We had a wonderful private tour with this company and we were able to modify our tour to suit our interests. The service was exceptional from our pickup at the cruise terminal, our knowledgeable guide Christine, and the wonderful places we saw. Our tour started with panoramic views of the Chania old town and the mountains, followed by a guided walking tour around the port and thru the old town, we chose the brewery stop and were not disappointed - great beers (and the food looked amazing) - we then had a beautiful scenic drive up thru the gorge to a lunch stop for some local food. This tour was definitely a highlight of our trip. I hope I can come back to this beautiful island as there was so much more to see.

This is a wonderful way to visit the more hidden parts of Crete. Thanks to Christine and Thanos we were treated to local delicacies and introduced to many traditions we otherwise would have missed.

I had the trip of a lifetime with my husband earlier this month. I can honestly say that in all of my years of traveling, I’ve never had tour guides that I can call friends…until I met Christine & Thanasis with SeaByBus. They were both very knowledgeable & passionate about their town. It was a treat to learn interesting details & the history from locals! (Side note: I’m a little jealous most Cretan families have their very own olive trees!!) The first day of touring was a little overcast & rainy, but our guides worked very hard to coordinate our excursion with indoor wine tastings & tours of historical monestaries, & breathtaking countryside views of Chania. (Oh, and despite the rain, we had an absolute blast!) When the rain stopped we ended our first day admiring the world’s oldest olive tree while sipping Crete’s finest (& strongest) coffee. (A minor mention that we also got a little sample of Crete’s famous aperitif, raki! Yamas!) On day two, Christine & Thanasis took us to a lovely local vineyard, Dourakis. We had a phenomenal time & took two bottles home with us. Our guides then took us to little villages to explore the town & we were delighted to shop in Rethimno, (a city by the sea) & enjoyed my favorite evening of the entire trip…the old Venetian port of Chania with an Egyptian-built lighthouse! As mentioned earlier, this one of my favorite experiences on a tour thus far, and truly hope to stay in touch with our fabulous guides, Christine & Thanasis.
